This was the largest project undertaken by our client since the facility original build in 2005 and comprises the initial phases of development sequenced in a Long-Range Planning exercise (LRP) undertaken by Taylor Group in conjunction with the site Engineering Team and projects Stakeholders. It encompasses a continuity of services provided by Taylor Group on site dating back to 2007.

Overview

Expansion projects by their nature require particular attention when planned in proximity to live operational facilities. Intervention activities and connectivity must ensure effective and efficient internal circulation in conjunction with streamlined process flows for raw materials, components, finished goods and waste materials. The design commenced with the process, followed by equipment requirements, utilities demands and facility layout. Detailed analysis was required on the availability of production critical services and what existing utilities may be available to service the project in the context of planned future provision.

Taylor Group was engaged to undertake the design of an expansion project to ensure the facility retains capacity to meet anticipated global demand for Diagnostic Products. The gross floor area of the expansion is 10,063m² and constitutes three primary Zones.

  • Testing and Administration 2,900m²
  • Filling, Labelling, Packing, Tech Floor 4,680m²
  • Warehousing & Ancillary Admin. 2,010m²

The project is designed in full compliance with our clients’ technical specifications and Global Engineering and FM standards. A sequential approach is adopted for delivery prioritizing initially small packages of work to enable an efficient delivery of the main building works.
