The project comprised the installation of a Stopper Washer Processor with required utility upgrades for the purpose of providing business and contingency continuity supporting an existing Biologics manufacturing process. Building fabric alterations were required to provide the required floor space and the additional utility demands was derived from services supporting an existing Biologics manufacturing process where the management of same and required tie-ins were critical to the success of the project.
Overview
Taylors were commissioned to manage the design and procurement with construction management including validation services for the provision of a Stopper Washer Processor in an existing Biologics manufacturing suite. We worked with a collaborative team to deliver the project from Inception through to handover and completion including placement of project critical equipment (client supply).
Excyte provided the validation services as part of the Taylor Group team and facilitated regular and efficient transfer of knowledge in relation to the overall validation process. Prochem provided additional capability for the final validation stages of the project and document generation.
The principal challenges were working in a restricted and live operational environment to a defined schedule. All critical elements and long lead items were procured in advance of the commencement of the works. The overall schedule was detailed out by Taylors on an element-by-element basis including weekend and out of hours working to achieve schedule. On site monitoring of workmanship and quality proved to be the success of the project as the overall schedule, budget and quality was achieved.
