Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP)

Safety Health and Welfare (SHW) transcends all other project parameters and as such Taylor Group operate a zero-accident vision and employ qualified personnel dedicated to ongoing improvement of not only of our in-house procedures, but that of the specialist consultants with whom we engage.

Taylor Group in the role as Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) manage the statutory SHW requirements of projects pursuant to the Safety Health and Welfare Construction Regulations 2013 and any specific requirements our clients SHW department may have.

At the commencement of a project Taylor Group SHW manager shall liaise with our client’s health and safety department and establish any site-specific requirements for a project, which will in turn are incorporated into the design and tender documentation.

A Preliminary Safety Health & Welfare Plan for the construction works will be generated based on designer’s risk assessments and encompass all known Health and Safety aspects of a project which offer an insight as to what is required of tendering contractors. Existing safety files specific to the works area will be reviewed as part of the process to allow for the proper administration of the service comprising:

Monitoring preparation of DRA’s by project disciplines
Preparation of the project Preliminary Health and Safety Plan
Preparation of “Other” required documentation for tender purposes
Review on health and safety sections of tender submissions and report on same
Review of tenderers submissions with respect to the appointment of the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS)
Review of design changes during the construction stage
Updating and reissue of the Preliminary Health and Safety Plan reflection authorized changes to the scope of the construction works
Coordination with other PSDP & PSCS appointments active on site for the duration of the design and construction stages of the project
Co-ordination and handover of a project specific “Safety File
